Limewood Solar, a solar project located outside of Temple, Texas, will generate approximately 204 megawatts (MW) of cost-effective and reliable energy for the ERCOT grid.
This project is positioned to deliver long-term economic benefits to Bell County through construction investment, new taxes, landowner payments over the life of the project, and a boost for local businesses during construction.

Limewood Solar Construction Updates
Construction activities advanced in Q1 2025 and will progress through the remainder of the year. Activities have included internal road construction, pile installation, new substation construction, and solar module installation.
You may see an increase in personnel and equipment onsite and in the community. We are sensitive to increased traffic and are actively working with Bell County leadership to ensure road use aligns with expectations.
We will continue to provide updates as construction moves forward in the weeks and months ahead.

Dust Mitigation Measures
We’ve received some questions related to construction traffic-related dust on the dirt roads around the Limewood Solar project site. Our construction team has been working to mitigate increased dust and is taking additional industry-standard measures to enhance dust control efforts by spraying magnesium chloride on the roads. This environmentally safe process utilizes less water and also provides a more semi-permanent solution for dust control. The magnesium chloride absorbs moisture from the air, keeping the road damp and reducing dust. This is a trusted, safe and reliable dust mitigation process commonly used in the construction industry.
Pine Gate Renewables in the Community
As the long-term owner and operator of the Limewood Solar project in Bell County, we want to be a good neighbor in Bell County and all communities where we develop, own and operate projects. To Pine Gate, being a good neighbor means working diligently throughout the lifecycle of the project to ensure sustained communications, project stewardship and community support. Our goal is to maintain a smooth process for the community near our project while also supporting the community that our project calls home. We are grateful for the opportunities to be a part of some exciting events in the area and play a role in supporting the community.
As a member of both the Belton and Temple Chambers of Commerce, we’ve been able to sponsor and attend some incredible events, including the Belton 4th of July Parade, the Temple Chamber of Commerce’s 2024 Military & First Responder Luncheon, its Salute to Business 2025 Banquet and Awards Ceremony, and its 16th Annual Golf Classic. We’ve also been a proud supporter of the Bell County Youth Fair’s Chisolm Trail Christmas Ball and the Ronald McDonald House Charities Celebrity Golf Classic.
