Pine Gate Renewables Signs 3-Year Agreement with Givepower to Help Fund Solar Water Farms Worldwide

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (November 16, 2020) – Furthering its innovation as a company and in support of the global clean energy movement, Pine Gate Renewables announced a new three-year partnership today with the GivePower Foundation.
GivePower is a non-profit that provides solar-based solutions to secure food, water and electricity for people in regions that need them most. Pine Gate Renewables will donate $200 per MW installed to GivePower to help bring clean, safe water to regions in need worldwide. This donation will provide the funds needed to support the growing distribution of clean drinking water that is generated by GivePower’s Solar Water Farm desalination technology. The grant will also help create jobs locally in the U.S., as well as abroad.
Lack of clean, safe water is a global issue. Some 780 million people do not have access to an improved water source, and more than 35% of the world’s population lacks access to improved sanitation. GivePower’s mission is to leverage solar-powered solutions, including the water desalination systems, to improve the lives of millions who lack these basic resources.

To date, GivePower has completed three solar water farms, powered over 2,700 schools and built 35 solar microgrids across 19 countries changing the lives of over 500,000 people. Pine Gate’s contributions will help those numbers keep growing.
