New Silver Pine Energy Holdings Developing Dozens of Projects across the Southeast
Asheville, NC (June 25, 2020) – Pine Gate Renewables (PGR) announced today it has entered into a joint venture partnership with Silver Creek Energy. The new holding company, Silver Pine Energy Holdings, will develop, finance and build utility-scale solar projects.
The entity is currently exploring over 20 developments throughout the Southeast totaling more than 1 GW of new solar projects that have the potential to energize over the next three years.

Right now, we’re overseeing 22 projects in the Southeast and focused on bringing cost-competitive solar to local communities in the region”, said Ben Catt, CEO of Pine Gate. “The principals at Silver Creek Energy have significant experience and tenure in the utility-scale solar space, and their talents dovetail perfectly with ours. The principals of Silver Creek Energy are former executives from Cypress Creek Renewables.

This joint venture comes at a time when the solar energy field is rapidly expanding in large part because of decreasing costs for solar energy and increasing demand in renewable energy. According to Solar Energy Industries Association® (SEIA) there are more than 2,100 developments in operation that generate about 48 gigawatts (GW) of power. More than 30 GW of solar development is under construction or in the planning stages.
