Get to know us! Each month, we sit down with one of our employees to get their perspective on the industry and share a little more about them with you. This week, we have “5 Questions With” Patty Wright.
As Vice President of Development, Patty spends her days working with a brilliant and gritty group of project development, finance and construction professionals. Together, they bring projects from early stage development or acquisition to operational utility scale solar farms. She gets to lead work that is challenging, interesting, rewarding and makes real and impactful change for our Country and the rest of the planet.
1. What does Pine Gate Renewable’s mission of “getting solar done” mean to you?
That we are taking active steps and making an impact everday on climate change. We are building the infrastructure for our future power needs and those of our children and their children. That is really f!@#$%& cool.
2. What are you most optimistic/excited about in this industry?
The goals being set by states across the country make me excited for the future of our planet and clean, renewable energy replacing coal and natural gas.
3. What’s the best business advice you’ve ever received?
Always hire people that are smarter than I am.
4. What is an unknown skill you possess outside of your day job?
Probably not that unknown…I love to bake, especially cakes. Growing up, my mother and I would bake every weekend, everything from bagels to eclairs to wedding cakes. As an adult, I usually spend a portion of my weekends concocting some new recipe and bringing samples to those I love most.
5. What’s one thing still on your bucket list that you hope to achieve in the next 5 years?
Spend a month in Tuscany on a small winery during harvest/crush.
